Fishing Since I Was Knee-High to a Grasshopper

I'm Larry Thomas, and I've been fishing since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I fished plenty of lakes around here, but the first time I dropped a line in Lake Tawakoni back in 2001, I was hooked. I moved to East Tawakoni and spent every day I could learning this lake and how its catfish move.

That was over 20 years ago, and Lake Tawakoni is still the only water I guide on. My boat even landed a lake record channel catfish at 29.08 pounds. When you book, you're booking with me directly, and I'll put you right where the fish are. This is a laid-back boat. Bring your buddies, your cooler and whatever helps you relax. The only rule is keep it safe.

Larry is a fantastic guide! Very friendly and professional. My family and I have been out with him several times. He never fails to lead us to getting our limit of catfish! He throws out the line, takes it off the hook and cleans it when we go in - giving us the fight and thrill of reeling in the fish and taking home tons of fillets. Highly recommend!!!

Wow what a great captain! We caught a ton of channel catfish! Exactly what Larry promised. My best friend isn't very experienced and with the wind and waves the bites were a little harder to feel, but captain took his time with her! In no time she was feeling them in! Great attitude great captain, amazing time. We have already booked him for March and the big blues... can't wait. Thank you

Serving Terrell

Terrell is a Kaufman County city on Interstate 20 and US Highway 80, east of Dallas. State Highway 34 runs north out of Terrell toward Quinlan and the Lake Tawakoni area, which makes the lake a practical day trip for a weekend morning. Terrell mixes older neighborhoods around its historic downtown with newer growth along the interstate, and plenty of residents commute west toward the Dallas area during the week. North Texas weather sets the fishing calendar here: summer heat pushes trips to first light, and winter cold fronts bring the wind that trophy blue anglers learn to dress for.

Why Terrell customers need this work

Many Terrell residents work long weeks and want a weekend fishing trip where everything is set up when they arrive. That's what a guided catfish trip is for. Summer channel cat trips start at daylight and usually limit out at 25 fish per person in 2 to 4 hours, so you're home before the afternoon heat. Spring trips suit groups who want plenty of eater blues for a fish fry. Groups of all sizes can call to set up a trip that fits the crew.
