/MEET YOUR GUIDE
Fishing Since I Was Knee-High to a Grasshopper
I'm Larry Thomas, and I've been fishing since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I fished plenty of lakes around here, but the first time I dropped a line in Lake Tawakoni back in 2001, I was hooked. I moved to East Tawakoni and spent every day I could learning this lake and how its catfish move.
That was over 20 years ago, and Lake Tawakoni is still the only water I guide on. My boat even landed a lake record channel catfish at 29.08 pounds. When you book, you're booking with me directly, and I'll put you right where the fish are. This is a laid-back boat. Bring your buddies, your cooler and whatever helps you relax. The only rule is keep it safe.

Serving Wills Point
Wills Point is a Van Zandt County town along Interstate 20 and US Highway 80, south of Lake Tawakoni. It's known as the Bluebird Capital of Texas, and Lake Tawakoni State Park sits north of town on the lake's south shore, drawing campers and day visitors through the warm months. Being on I-20 makes Wills Point an easy meeting point for friends coming from the Dallas side to the west or the Tyler side to the east. The reservoir's long, open stretches mean wind direction plays a big role in how a day on the water goes, and local anglers learn to watch the forecast before they launch.

Why Wills Point customers need this work
Plenty of people come to Wills Point to camp at the state park or visit family and want a fishing day built in. A guided catfish trip fits that well: bait, tackle and lake know-how are handled, and you just show up with your cooler and license. Winter trips are for anglers chasing a trophy blue catfish, while spring trips often bring 50 or more eater blues to the boat. Summer channel cat trips start at daylight, so you're back before the hottest part of the day.
